Boat Hire Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE

The hire vessel and/or equipment are to be always under the control of the nominated skipper and/or hirer. It is the nominated skipper's and/or hirer’s responsibility to ensure the safety of the vessel and/or equipment and their passengers at all times.

Skipper/Hirer to always provide and have a phone contact on them.

When booking the hire equipment, a bond of $100 per equipment/vessel is taken.

The hire fee is to be paid in full prior to commencing the hire.

Cancellation Policy – Skipper/Hirer is to give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice of booking date and time, failure to do so will result in loss of bond.

For safety reasons hire equipment/vessels are not to be operated in winds exceeding 25 Knots. The Staff Member at the jetty will make the final call on the day of hire and if staff deem unsafe, the skipper/hirer is entitled to a full refund. It is the nominated skipper/hirer’s responsibility to be aware of the current weather forecast and water conditions of the area for the duration of hire. If skipper/hirer returns early due to weather conditions, booking fee will not be refunded and you must let jetty staff know of your return as to check vessel/equipment before any bond will be refunded, failure to do so will result in loss of bond.

Late Return Fee of $50. Hire times are set bookings. If you are late to your booking, your return time remains the same and no compensation is given. If you fail to show up for your booking, no refund will be given.

If at any time during the safety briefing, our staff deem any skipper to be unfit to operate the vessel, the booking will be cancelled, and the hire fee will be refunded. The $100 bond will not be refunded. This is for your safety, the safety of your passengers and any other water users.

There is to be no operation of vessel by any person that is intoxicated by drugs or alcohol.

Equipment/Vessels to be returned in the same condition as hired. Any damage is to be paid in full by the hirer and the bond will not be returned.

 All nominated skippers must be listed on the hire agreement and their drivers and boat licence number noted, all skippers are to attend the boats skippers briefing.

The vessel is to be used strictly between sunrise and sunset and are not to be operated in open waters. The vessel is only to be used in the operating area shown on the map in the safety briefing, Navigational hazards such as reefs, shoals, and sandbars etc. are to be avoided by keeping a vigilant lookout.  When in the vicinity of navigational hazards, boat speed is to be reduced, the same holds for operating in channels or restricted waterways.

The nominated skipper/s agrees to abide by rules set by Department of Transport.

Not to carry passengers more than rated capacity of any vessel or equipment.

Vessel is not to be used for towing or to barge anything. Strictly no racing.

Children 12 and under are required to always wear a PFD while on the boat, all PFDs are included in the hire of the vessel.

All fines made to hirer are to be paid in full.

Possession of equipment will occur if terms are not adhered, or equipment is abandoned.

At the beginning of the hire, the boat will be issued with a full tank of fuel. If during the hire you need additional fuel Contact Augusta Xtreme Boat Hire 0427411002 to organise new tank for fuel. At end of hire, you will pay for the fuel you used at Augusta Xtreme Outdoor Sports, or you may opt to have it taken from bond. If any inappropriate fuel (E10, Diesel, water, straight unleaded) is used, the nominated skipper will be charged for its removal and any damage caused to the motor.

I have read and agreed to the terms and conditions. Please present your receipt to the person at the boat jetty. Hold on to your receipt as you will need it for your bond return here at the shop. If you have booked online, your bond will be returned through to the card you provided for payment and may take a few business days to clear.
