Neptune Tackle Garfish Rig (Yellow Carded)

Garfish tend to prefer the slower moving waters and avoid the raging tidal flowa. They will often be found along the edges of weedbeds, near pylons and jetties, near and over sandflats.

Garfish bite best at dawn and dusk.

They are attracted to movement, so cast your bait towards your berley, jiggle the float and watch for any movement. There is no need to strike hard but gentle pressure will set the hook.

Baits vary from state to state, however maggots, gar flesh, prawns and worms are ideal.

Berley is essential and garfish respond well to it but do not over berley.
